What about fragrance oils?

I (Millie) infuse my body butters with Calendula and Colloidal Oatmeal to provide nourishment below just the surface. Calendula is a healer whose soothing, reparative, and anti-inflammatory properties were used in traditional European and Mediterranean herbal remedies for skin healing, while Oatmeal keeps skin hydrated, restores pH, helps reduce skin inflammation and itching (like eczema), and has antioxidant properties.

I chose each ingredient thoughtfully and with intention to not only be safe but also effective on sensitive, easily irritated, and eczema-ridden skin.

Although not intended for the face (if you're looking for a facial moisturizer, see Millie's Marshmallow Glow), it is safe and if it works for you, why not! Please note that it is oil-based and is not a lotion. Fun fact: my boyfriend uses the Unscented as his facial moisturizer and he glows!

I suggest to apply body butter everyday after a shower; in this way I feel like the softness as well as the fragrance lasts longer.

Every day! Or to smell extra good on special occasions ;)

Body butter melts above 85 degrees F and gets very firm below 60 degrees F. In both cases, the butter is still usable, just not as luxurious. With this in mind, please store them at room temperature and away from windows with direct sunlight.

Depending on the season, I ship the butters in compostable insulation to preserve their texture. In the case that it melts, scoop out the contents into a stand mixer or bowl along with a hand mixer and whip it on medium-high until bright white and fluffy (about 10-15 minutes).

A body butter is made with only butters and oils and is whipped to create a fluffy and creamy texture. In a lotion, water is in the formula along with oils, and usually an emulsifying wax to bind the two. They are often used interchangeably to describe a daily moisturizer made for the skin.

With transparency, I do use fragrance oils (specifically P&J brand mostly) in some of my body butters with the knowledge that they are generally not "good for you." I personally feel comfortable using them on myself, but I advise you do your own research if you are wary. The fragrance oils add a bit more fun to an otherwise totally incredible product that leaves the skin super soft to the touch for hours and still honoring the other natural elements used. I've also provided the Lavender scent which is scented with essential oils, as well as an Unscented for those who are extra sensitive or have their own signature scents at home that would clash.
